V for Vendetta...
I am getting really bad at posting...getting, who am I kidding. In order to be "getting" you must not have been in the first place. Any who, the prime reason for this post is that I just finished watching "V for Vendetta." It is an awesome movie. It is a politically thriller about a future where the USA has squandered its power in fighting wars it had no business starting, England somehow took the reigns as the world super power, and the fascist English government is being threatened by a government experiment gone wrong. Now it wreaks of Bush/Cheney/Iraq/WMD/FoxNews/etc references, however I feel that in all it does tell a cautionary tale that must be retold, AGAIN. It seems that history has a nasty habit of repeating itself and this movie just points out what can, has, and will again someday happen IF the public lets fear mongers scare us into surrendering our freedoms in some trumped up scam about viruses, terrorists, and homosexuals (Oh my!). The movie has a nice dirty graphic novel feel to the cinematography (big surprise as it was based on a graphic novel).
It makes me wonder why it made only $70m in the USA so far (cost $54m to make) and about $117M worldwide. Oh well, life goes on.
I promise, not that anyone is reading, that I will, if for no one else but me, make more frequent entries in this blog.
Good nite.
